Collection: Mist of Misery

Mist of Misery was formed in 2010 in the northern suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden with the vision to create music that was based on melancholy, darkness, depression and atmosphere. That vision lead to the release of the "Bleak Autumn" EP in 2010, along with the fullength album by the same name in 2011. Around that time there were big changes with the line-up of Mist of Misery, most importantly the addition of Phlegathon on guitar, which resulted in the release of the "Temple of Stilled Voices" EP in 2013

Mist of Misery released their second fullength entitled "Abscence" in 2016 which showcased the progression the band had made since their early days. "Abscence" with it's blend of atmospheric black metal and symphonic and depressive elements was very well received around the world getting tremendous reviews. Before it's release, Livsnekaren had joined the band on drums and was soon followed by Tenebris, who joined the band on bass for various live performances and later

became a permanent member in 2017.

The band followed up the critically acclaimed album with two EPs in 2017 entitled "Shackles of Life" and "Fields of Isolation". The following years Mist of Misery performed at festivals in Bulgaria, Germany and Wales as well as various gigs in their own home country while writing their next album, which was to be entitled "Unalterable". Around that time Phlegathon stepped away from his duties in the band to concentrate on his original band, Hyperion. "Unalterable was finally released in 2019 and displayed the band's evolved atmospheric sound. Epic and grandiose, the lengthy "Unalterable" had to be divided into two parts, making it a double album. Yet again the album garnered much praise and paved the way for another evolution in the soundscape of Mist of Misery, which was made evident when the band began working on a new album.

The writing of their new effort took the band’s symphonic sound to new heights. Mist of Misery finished the recording of the album in early 2022 and soon signed with Non Serviam Records, with a planned release in the fall of 2022.
